Fashion Academy has begun! This year GLAM Program is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Baltimore Design School and Baltimore City Community College. Our Fashion Academy aims to charter a direct career path for participating middle and school students who are interested in majoring in Fashion Design. In addition to learning the hands on skills in Fashion Design, students in GLAM Program are encouraged to enroll for dual enrollment at Baltimore City Community College —receiving two years of free college-level instruction and advanced training in Fashion Design fields so that, upon graduation, they would be highly desirable for fast paced industry jobs and most sought after 4 year institutions.
Throughout the year girls work on producing an end of program project. Our girls are immersed not only GLAM into the glitz and glam of fashion and modeling; but also the following skills:
Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of blueprints, drawings, and models.
Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Sales and Marketing - Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, collaborate and individual learning.
Fine Arts- Knowledge of theory and techniques required to compose, produce, and perform works of modeling techniques, fashion and design.
